[Movies] FOX Considering More X-Men & Daredevil Films
Posted by Ashish on 09.10.2008

FOX wants to get more out of their two main comic franchises -- X-Men and Daredevil.

They are considering doing a Young X-Men film which would be similar to the X-Men: Evolution animated series and follow the characters as teenagers.

There is also talk of doing a spin-off of Mercenary, one of the characters from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine film.

Lastly, there is talk of rebooting the Daredevil franchise with a new film.

DEADPOOL PLZ

mercenary = deadpool? - Make it happen.

don't go teenagers. Bring Cyclops back to liffe. Marsden is getting better as an actor, have him start a new team of "New Mutants" introduce Cable. Fight the Phalanx.

DareDevil - Have the guy from Burn Notice as Murdock. He kicks all kinds of butt.

Well, I guess we can give them one more chance to make a great X-Men film. All they need to do to accomplish this is insert either Omega Red or Apocalypse.

yes we need a new daredevil film. and a movie based off of x-men evolution would be awsome

See, this is what happens when you run out of ideas. Another Daredevil movie would not make sense, and who are you going to have for the main villain? Stick?

As for X Men, what other individual character besides Wolverine is really going to draw?

Daredevil aka Jason Statham.
I'm there. Pre order the tickets.

Jason Statham as Daredevil!

Make it happen and I will love it!

I might be with the minority, but I don't think that the Daredevil movie was so bad. I wouldn't do a reboot since they already talked about the origin and everyone knows what it's like. If they wanted to do something really cool and not mess with any of the movie stories, they could do a Spidey/Daredevil movie.

The Burn Notice guy would be cool as Daredevil. He kicks ass.

As far as villains are concerned, there's The Owl and Mephisto and they could also use Electro.

Maybe they can hire real directors and screenwriters and call it "The summer of Apology". They should take that time to have Frank Miller write a re-boot of the Daredevil comic and to have someone competent redo X-Men 3.

Oh, and I guess anything is possible in moviedom, but the X-men together was probably wacky teenagers in wacky teenage antics sounds fucking lame.

Jeffrey Donovan from Burn Notice as Daredevil? Perfect.

Daredevil vs Spidey or team with Spidey. Both happened often back in the day before 1 million different reboots and alternate universes.

more gambit please!

I'm still convinced that "Daredevil: Father" would transition well to the screen.

I've read the directors cut of DD is tons better than the product that orginally came out, so maybe they have a chance with it since DD could actually be a dark movie ala Dark Knight, since DD does get rather rough with his villians.

No.

Jason Statham as Daredevil?

the fucker can't act, how the hell are we going to believe that he is Morgan or are we just going to see 2 hours of Daredevil driving a car and grimacing???

"more gambit please!"

agreed. a gambit movie could be cool. base it on the morlock massacre, throw in a little sinister, hell sabretooth as well. a few exploding playing cards here and there and you're on to a winner hehe.

They need to leave this series alone for a few years... then reboot it after an appropriate time (no less than 5 years). Let's call this the 'Fox Trilogy' and forget these movies ever happened.

Posted By: leaveitalone (Guest)  on September 10, 2008 at 10:07 PM

Why remake Daredevil? The first movie was good and vastly underrated.

No Gambit. Gambit sucks. Gambit fans are like Venom fans. They have zero respect for the history of the franchises and think that whatever so-called edgey antihero debuted when they were kids is the be all to end all of awesome.

I would love to see the Mercenary be Sabertooth or Deadpool. They are both really good to go with. What Sabertooth did after weapon X is some hardcore shit....But thats just me....I know about 98% of you are going Deadpool, but I would like to see Sabertooth. If you are going Gambit for the Mercenary plz go shoot yourself he is a thieve...all Im going to say about that lol

What about Aaron Eckhart as Daredevil?

He'd be great

Posted By: Rob (Guest)  on September 11, 2008 at 04:04 AM

a character as great as DD deserves a second chance in a film.

Bob Dole ..... just stick to loosing and taking viagra. It's what you do best. Anti-Gambit fans are just synical nerds who are still virgins living in their mom's basement .... see I can make fun of people too.

well a new DD movie would need more lawyer scenes. and Purple Man as the villain

Posted By: shingetterprime (Guest)  on September 11, 2008 at 12:09 PM

'Daredevil' by soon-to-be-hot-shit 'The Wrestler' director Darren Aronofsky = BIG WIN

And, a CGI X-Men movie needs to be made -- STAT.

Jeffrey Donavan gets my vote too!
How about Hugh Laurie as Mr Fear,Jason Statham as Bullseye,Jon Cryer as The Jester and Malcolm McDowell as The Owl.

Posted By: stiltman (Guest)  on September 11, 2008 at 12:38 PM

If Mercenary is Deadpool, then hell yeah.

Posted By: fgfhgdfhj (Guest)  on September 11, 2008 at 09:05 PM

Jason Statham my fellow country man he would be fine if you wanted very little talking and lots of arse kicking am sure everybody knows he is a legit martial artist (if you did'nt know he is) and of course talented driver but to be fair to him the last guy who played daredevil cant act for shit either Ben Aflick what a douchebag
